AnTuTu v7.0 Shows Better Results For OPPO R11s

Today AnTuTu benchmark was updated to version 7. This update refers not only the overall interface but also brings new features. To show what differences it comes with one of the bloggers came in with the OPPO R11s’ screenshot.
The AnTuTu v7.0 has added two new 3D testing features called ‘Refinery’ and ‘Coastline’. Both scenarios have been developed to test the phone’s GPU performance when playing games as well as what maximum performance it can provide. Undoubtedly, these new features require support for OpenGL ES 3.1 + Android Extension Pack features. So we should state the testing quality has reached the PC level. Thanks to it, AnTuTu now provides more reliable data.
The first phone tested by AnTuTu v7.0 was the OPPO R11s. As you know, this amazing handset has been launched more than a month ago. Though the selling point of this smartphone is considered to be the camera, there are many key features we should pay an appropriate attention to as well. Say, it sports a Snapdragon 660 chip using four large cores and four small cores with a Kryo architecture. The highest frequency it reaches is 2.2GHz. Moreover, this chip is paired with an Adreno 512 GPU, which is known for its ideal performance.
Earlier, when the Oppo R11s was tested via the sixth version of AnTuTu, it showed about 121K scores. The new version of this benchmark, AnTuTu v7.0 showcases this handset scores about 130K, actually.

So we should state, the AnTuTu list of top smartphones will change once they are tested via this version.

Nokia To Launch a new 4G Smartphone Soon

The rumors that HMD Global would launch a new 4G smartphone soon is getting stronger. Recently, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certified TA-1047 and TA-1060 smartphones from Nokia which are believed to sport 4G features. Now, Bluetooth SIG just certified TA-1047, TA-1060, TA-1056, TA-1079 and TA-1066 Nokia phones. This certification strongly implies that these smartphones will drop very soon although they are definitely targeting different markets and different classes of users. The details of these smartphones and the market which they target are not known.

Nokia is a worldwide accepted brand thus a simple professional analogy between a region and its preferred smartphone could place at least of these five devices in one continent. The company could release one dual-SIM edition of the forthcoming 4G devices to Asia and Europe while the rest of the world is expected to get a single-SIM edition. Africa, Australia, and Americas will probably get two variants of the phone. From the software description, these smartphones may not run the Android OS as it may come with series 30+ Feature OS like the Nokia 3310 (2017) .

HMD Global is scheduled to release quite a number of smartphones next year as we expect to see the Nokia 9 flagship, Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 8 (2018) in addition to these five smartphones.

Apple Prepares To Launch Its Second-Generation AirPods

Ming-Chi Kuo in the latest research note said
MEDIA REPORTS OVER THE PAST FEW DAYS ON BRISK AIRPODS DEMAND AND APPLE STRUGGLING TO KEEP UP WITH HOLIDAY SEASON DEMAND ALIGN WITH OUR FINDINGS AND POSITIVE PREDICTIONS ON AIRPODS IN SEVERAL PREVIOUS REPORTS. IN 2018, WE PREDICT AIRPODS SHIPMENTS WILL GROW 100% YOY TO 26-28MN UNITS. WE FORECAST THE ASP OF RFPCB FOR UPGRADED AIRPODS IN 2H18 MAY INCREASE, FURTHER BENEFITING BUSINESS MOMENTUM OF UNITECH AND COMPEQ.

The new AirPod is scheduled to arrive with an accompanying new inductive AirPods charging case which will permit charging of the AirPods with Apple’s new AirPower charging mat. Back in September in an iPhone X event, the AirPower mat was announced and it will launch next year. According to Kuo, the 2018 AirPods shipments will double to 26-28 million units on a year-over-year basis.

Samsung Patent A Foldable Device With New Design

In recent times, Samsung Electronics has been quite serious with the foldable smartphone development. Recently, the company was given another patent for a foldable device that is completely different from what we have seen so far. This patent was filed internationally under U.S. patent number US20170351297. This device can be folded in multiple ways and from the patent, the device (probably a smartphone) has dual screens installed in metal frames which are joined together by a “coupling.” This axis enables the device to be folded open into a larger display, it can also be folded out so that it has a screen at the front and the back or folded in so that the screens are facing each other.

Android Oreo test build for the US Galaxy Note 8 leaks from nowhere

We’ve been hearing a lot about the Galaxy S8 Oreo beta tests. But the same can’t be said about the Galaxy Note 8. Samsung is in advanced stages of beta testing with the Galaxy S8 duo although there have been bumps along the way. Now it seems a rogue user on Reddit has procured an unstable build of Oreo for the Galaxy Note 8. The build has been put up for all who can use and try out the new firmware.

But it is worth pointing out that this build is specifically for the unlocked Galaxy Note 8 units on Verizon. This also means that Exynos variants are out of luck as the US has Snapdragon 835 models. Furthermore, Galaxy Note 8 users will have to be on firmware version N950USQS2BQK2 i.e. the latest official build for this leaked build to work.

If you alr
eady have adequate experience with flashing such test builds, then you may proceed with due caution. You should look around the Reddit thread as there are some instruction guides that can be helpful. If, however, these are uncharted waters for you, it is best you skip this.
Also, for those who are planning to flash the build, a full backup is highly recommended before you start the update.

Apple iPhone X suppliers reports indicate weak shipments during November

Apparently November wasn’t the best month for the companies responsible for supplying the components of Apple’s iPhone X. According to a report coming from Largan Precision, a camera lens manufacturer, the company saw only a 0.05% rise in their revenue over the last month, and expects to see this number decreases during December.
Worth to mention that the lens suppliers isn’t the only one experiencing this, as the Chassis and Case supplier Catcher saw its total revenue drop 10,4% over the last month. Another one to suffer from this behavior was General Interface Solutions, a company that supplies touch panels for the tenth-years special edition iPhone, reported a month-over-month revenue drop of 15,53% in November.
The reason for these multiple losses? According to the own companies the Apple’s orders for components was 30% lower during the last month than previously predicted. Now these suppliers are fearing that Apple cuts even more the total number of how many iPhone X will be shipped during the first quarter of 2018.
However some analysts predicts that Apple will ship the same amount of iPhone X in January and February of 2018 that they’ve achieved during November. But a drop will inevitably be happening by March due to seasonality and the less working days.
Another excuse for the dry of the earlier iPhone X demand is due the recent rumors of a 2018 iPhone X arriving with 6.5-inch and another variant with an edge-to-edge LCD display, possibly featuring an under the glass fingerprint sensor if the technology proof to be ready until then.
The iPhone X have been Apple’s best bet to shake up its sales after a long period of decreases with uninspired iPhone launches. So the handset overall performance in the market is crucial for keeping the US company mood.
